Jean Loewenberg has been a practicing lawyer for 50+ years! We asked her a few of our community questions and she shared her wonderful thoughts with us…

What do you do when you don’t know what to do?

The lawyer in me reads this question at least two ways. If “do” means how do I deal with decisions or real dilemmas, I have learned to make a decision and mean it, knowing that I will realize very quickly if it’s the right one. I will either feel relieved and happy or I will feel awful and go the other way. Nothing is irrevocable except death and having a baby.

What would you do if you had the whole day to yourself?

I would take a walk on our beautiful dirt road and then reward myself with a book that I know I will really enjoy, and read it.

What is the best thing about being a woman?

Not being a man. That includes understanding the obligation of empathy and never saying “I don’t understand” about how someone else is or thinks or does. And paying it forward in helping women succeed in a man’s world, because it still is.

What is the one piece of clothing you cannot live without?

My Alembika collection of ponte pants and stretch jeans, and if I have to pick my one, it’s the Iconic Stretch Jeans in blue denim.
