Meet Patty
We spoke to Patty from Chezelle in Baltimore, Maryland about her career, her must-have travel items and her favorite Alembika products.
Did you always want to be a retailer?
I was an art major in college and loved all forms of art and couldn’t decide what my true love was. So when I graduated I was working at a local department store in their credit department and started full time there. I then applied to their buying training program. After 8-12 months I became an assistant buyer in the Junior department. Within 2 years I was promoted to a buyer in Juniors. Then cosmetics and kids. And then specialty stores. I was hired by Chezelle as a manager and eventually had the opportunity to become President.
What would you do in your next life?
In my next life, I would love to use my hands to refinish furniture to make old things look new. Fashion always circles back but looks newer.
What are your Top 5 “must carry with you” travel items?
Comfortable tops, comfortable elastic waist pants, great comfortable shoes, HHP Lift cell phone and handbags- recycle fishing mesh so lightweight, and packable lightweight water repel coats.
What is your favorite season and what is your go-to wardrobe for that season?
I love changing seasons, Spring and Fall, to layer up adding vests, sweaters, jackets.
What is your favorite Alembika item and what makes you love the brand?
We started with Alembika 11 years ago. And have grown as she has. We love her combination of mixed tops and jackets.
