The instruction in meditation is to come back. When our mind wanders and slips away, we bring it home. It is the same in Tai Chi. If I miss a step and fall behind the group, I reset and rejoin the flow.

I find myself off track a few times daily. I go off and bring myself back on. Falling apart is part of life. I fall off, and I come back on.

It’s October 7th today and I again fall apart. The war against Hamas in Israel is still going on and my heart is breaking for both sides. I cry, I feel helpless, and then bounce back to choose hope and strength. To believe in people’s goodness and the ability to heal.

Do you know how to come back?
