ALEMBIKA ZOOM CAFE – FALL-WINTER 2022

LAST 2022 ZOOM CAFE
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2ND @4PM (ET)

Our last Zoom Café of the year is this Friday, December 2nd, and we hope you will be there to celebrate the season with us! We’ll recap subjects covered during the year and, also, share our wishes and ideas for 2023. If you wish to share with us, come prepared to share one thing you would like to let go of, as well as one thing you would like to manifest, develop or add in the year ahead.

SALLY BASS: JEWELRY TRUNK SHOW
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH @4PM (ET)

Meet Sally Bass. She has been creating jewelry for over 30 years, and it continues to guide her to the next adventure. Her job is to allow the pieces to tell their unique story. She’s a steward of sorts, and can’t think of a better job. There’s nothing she’d rather be doing. She has lived on four continents and absorbed the colors, textures, patterns, rhythms, and aesthetics of each in her one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art.

ROBIN SORKIN: LIVE & DIE WELL
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH @4PM (ET)

Robin shared her insights on and expectations of senior care. We asked ourselves and discuss with each other those uncomfortable, if not taboo, questions: How do I want to live as I age? How do I want to die?

SONIA ISRAEL: 90 COUNTRIES & COUNTING
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH @4PM (ET)

Join us for a conversation about the joys of travel from a jet-set expert and one of our Zoom Café frequent flyers! Sonia is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry, University of California, San Diego—and also one of the most well-traveled people we have ever met! Her travel blog, JOURNEYS WITH SONIA, is replete with gorgeous images of her many adventures and journeys around the world, plus in-depth stories and history—all engaging and wonderful! If you enjoy traveling, you know how great it feels to “get out of dodge” and gain perspective, exploring different lands and cultures. Meet us in the café—then start planning your next getaway!

ADI KAPLAN: HOLISTIC FACIALIST
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD @4PM (ET)

Join us for a Face Reflexology mini workshop with Adi, who says, “Every wrinkle I have, I have earned with hard work.” Meet Adi, hear about her journey, and learn how she helps others to heal their skin and get that glow—the natural way. After earning a Masters in Industrial Engineering, Adi went in a different direction… At 40, when many go the Botox way, Adi knew she wanted to work in “well-aging.” While she’s not “anti” anything, Adi went the NOtox way… She now helps clients reduce the look of wrinkles, get a glowing face, and look great NATURALLY. Adi loves treating, educating and seeing results. But mostly, Adi loves the compliments she gets from clients after each treatment! Adi works in Tampa, Florida, does Zoom workshops, and shares tutorial videos on her Instagram account: @facialhealing.

JEAN STONE: HEALTHCARE FRAUD & ABUSE
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH @4PM (ET)

Meet Jean and learn how to identify, prevent and report healthcare fraud and abuse. You may recognize Jean as one half of The Idiosyncratic Fashionistas with Valerie, her partner in crime… But when this impeccable fashion influencer and loyal Alembika customer is not modeling, styling, speaking or conducting interviews, she volunteers for NY Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) counseling seniors, their families and caregivers to identify, prevent and report fraud, abuse and waste. Jean worked for the federal government for over 46 years, with more than 40 in Medicare and Medicaid—from policy and legislative development to procedure claims and fraud investigations. She’s worked on hundreds of cases, testified as an expert witness in federal criminal and civil trials, grand juries and sentencing hearings, and has testified at trial for the NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

MORAN OVADIA: CHOCOLATE FASHIONISTAS FRIDAY, AUGUST 26TH, 4PM (ET)

Join us and meet Moran, who will tell us about her chocolate making journey and her fashionable edibles, while inspiring a conversation about all things chocolate! Moran is a chocolate artist and a chocolatier, which means she not only makes chocolates, she uses them as the rich, velvety medium for her art. She says, “I fell in love with chocolate. In it, I have found my favorite medium to exhibit the enthusiasm, playfulness, individuality, and aesthetics that infuse my creative process. Ten years ago, I turned my whimsical zeal for creating artistic edibles into the business Chocolate Fashionistas, as part of the Quaint Chocolate, and as a representation of how two big loves and tastes can be combined into one: Chocolate and Fashion.”
