About Debra:

Debra Rapoport was born in NYC in 1945. As a visual artist, she calls what she does “Dressing Up, Over and Again!” Her embellishment and hat creations start with the ABCs: Assembling, Building and Constructing for the body, incorporating color, texture and layering using mostly found materials.

Since “Frugality is Fun,” she’d rather re-invent and curate my closet than be a conspicuous consumer.

Debra’s work is in collections at Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; MAD Museum of Art & Design, NYC; L.A. County Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Helen Williams Drutt Collection, Philadelphia Museum of Art; Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum, Athens, Greece; and Hermitage Museum.
