Taoism and Tai Chi say that when aggression comes your way you react with softness. It is not a sign of weakness or giving up. It’s a strategy. Soft wins. In the battlefield with my opponent and in my life. 

We use the opponent’s energy coming our way and let it exhaust itself.

Sometimes we call it “invest in loss.” A very wise way of being. Not easy at all to practice.
