How would you describe your style as a teenager?

As a teenager, I dressed just like everyone else. Bobby socks, saddle shoes, Peter Pan collared blouses, sweater sets, and pleated skirts.  I guess it was conforming to belonging.

How would you describe your style, now?

At this time, in my “Golden Years”, I like to dress simply and comfortably (not sloppy).  Sometimes I like a bit of “panache”.  My friends say I dress elegantly, but that is “fuddy-duddy”… I prefer to say that I dress appropriately contemporary for a senior.

What famous woman would you like to have dinner with and why?

I would enjoy, and look forward to having dinner with Michelle Obama.  She is such a bright, accomplished, independent woman.  Her thoughts, ideas and opinions are creative, intense and on the mark.  I loved her book, and would certainly be thrilled to have dinner with her and hear about her family, her plans for the future,  her views on our nation or anything she would want to share with me.

What is your perfect day?

A perfect day would definitely include time with my family.  The happiness I feel when I am with them makes for a perfect day…… and, together, if we could make the world a better place…that would be perfection!!

Who gave you the most valuable piece of advice and what was it?

I am not a person who has favorites, mosts, bests, etc.  However, my husband gave me practical advice whenever I worried or stressed over situations. ( Not health or life threatening issues). He would ask…”OK, what is the worst thing that will happen if it does not get fixed, solved, resolved, found etc.?” Once I could accept the worst thing, then we could deal and go forward  with  how to make it better and not dwell on worrying. I know it seems simple, but it has taken the edge off so much unnecessary stress.

Thank you, Natalie, for being an #alembikawoman!
