Q&A – Katie Haskins, Store Owner of Capsule in Augusta, GA

I love Alembika for the client it serves, an often-overlooked babe who wants to look and feel just as good as the next gal.  She’s also way cooler than the average person, and has fun expressing herself through clothing and accessories.

Did you always want to be a retailer?

Yes!  I grew up with entrepreneurial parents and figured everyone picked a passion and turned it into a small business.  I went to The University of Georgia for Fashion Merchandising and never looked back.  I was trained by some of the best in the business, and after about 12 years of working for others, I ventured out on my own!  Here we are 7 years later, and while so much has changed in our industry, I still love life in retail.

What would you do in your next life?

I’d be an artist.  The idea of being in the flow and spending all day playing sounds glorious.

What are your Top 5 “must carry with you” travel items?

Phone charger, my notebook of “half assed ideas”, lipstick, mints, and a wallet.

What is your favorite season and what is your go-to wardrobe for that season?

I don’t have a favorite!  There is something to love about all of them!  I’m just glad we get to experience 4 seasons here in Augusta, GA.
