Deborah Kent’s opened in 1980 in Tampa, Florida by Deborah Skyrms, and has since become a fashionable landmark within the Tampa Bay community.
With a background in textiles, merchandising and design, owner Deborah Skyrms, travels in search of designers whose vision embodies the essence of style. Each piece is hand-selected and ordered with our customers in mind. Alembika is one of her favorites.

Did you always want to be a retailer?
No, I did not always want to be a retailer. Originally I had aimed to become a professor of women’s studies (while mastering all the romantic languages). I just happened to get a job in retail to make ends meet in college, and the rest is history.

A black maxi skirt, black maxi tank dress, all purpose belt, favorite jeans, and an oversized cashmere sweater.
What is your favorite season?
Fall is by far my favorite season because of the assortment of fabrics and textures…plus who can really say no to jewel tones?
What’s your favorite Alembika style or item?
I love Alembika because it has not “been there, done that”. I feel that every collection feels original and has a personality of its own.
I personally cannot get enough of the punto pants in any print, color, or fabric. It fits everyone and can transition from day to night.
The tekbika collection rocks and has been getting stronger every season. Always excited to see what they are going to come up with next.
