What did you do or do for work? I was a public school teacher of the gifted and talented students for 32 years before retirement. For the past 23 yrs I have been a full time Real Estate agent in New Jersey.

An old but reliable GO TO top for my hectic lifestyle!
How would you describe your style as a teenager? In high school, I was the captain of the girls’ basketball team and loved shopping with my family. Malls were becoming big in the late 50’s and 60’s so this was a frequent outing. I loved wearing madras dresses and was quite preppy in my style. I wore kilts, sweaters and knee highs with penny loafers. My hair was always shoulder length with a Jackie Kennedy flip.
How would you describe your style now? I am a very modest dresser and always cover my elbows and knees. This is what has drawn me to the Alembika brand. I wear a lot of dresses but also frequently wear pants on cruises and when visiting a daughter in Aspen!

Who gave you the most valuable piece of advice and what was it? I actually have two: Firstly, my dad always told me from a very young age NEVER to sit in the sun. He said, “God gave you white skin and therefore you shouldn’t try to make yourself brown.” So I never ever sat in the sun and now my skin is unblemished.
Secondly, My husband who is 11 yrs my senior and a practicing attorney until 90, told me to become a realtor upon retirement from teaching. That was the best advice because I have been very successful at the art of selling homes!

What would you do if you had the whole day for yourself? I love shopping, so I would probably take myself out to breakfast, shop a bit, attend a local art gallery, perhaps visit some elderly folks I know in nursing homes and end the day after a manicure/pedicure trying to squeeze in playtime with my great grandchild!
What’s on your Alembika Wishlist?
Oh, that’s a complex question because I love it all! The coats, sweaters, the cocoon dresses and so many of the pants / tops combos.
