I had the wonderful privilege of meeting one of our customers last week in our NYC showroom. She had just retired after a 30-year career in the tech world, working in a male-dominated industry. She shared that while she always felt respected and treated as an equal, she believed a key factor was how she showed up—both in presence and in style.

She dressed with intention—professionally, seriously, and always mindful of the message her clothing conveyed. She wanted to be seen as someone who took her career seriously, who respected her workplace, her colleagues, and, most importantly, herself. She also observed how those who didn’t “dress the part” were sometimes perceived and treated differently.

Her story was a powerful reminder that clothing is more than just fabric; it’s a statement. It speaks before we do, shaping how we’re seen and how we feel. And yet, she never sacrificed her unique style—she embraced it in a way that commanded respect and authenticity.
