Fathers sometimes get a bad reputation. We complain that they are not present, do not communicate, and are not sufficiently involved with the upbringing of the kids.
Sometimes I wonder, are they really absent, or
… we, the mothers, push them away and do not give them enough room to shine and to show who they are as fathers? My father passed away 18 years ago. I was 34. It was only in the last few years that I finally connected to his warmth and gentle touch and realized his love was always there, just passive, which I translated as “absent”.
What do you remember most about your dad?
I hope you all enjoyed your fathers or their memory this past weekend.
