Every time I’m on a plane looking down (especially during a day flight), I can feel the bigger picture. What we call the Oneness.
Earth from above offers only beauty, allowing me to let go of my attachments more easily. But then I land and return to earthly matters: the long lines, the little screwups that annoy me and make me reactive, the woman at the airport who threw out the Tahini bottles I was looking forward to giving my kids as presents, a problem with my computer, a bill I forgot to pay—and I fall apart.
The Oneness is gone.
This is when I need to turn to my tool box. To remember to pause. Take deep breaths. Use my inner smile to remind myself that it’s all not so important and I have a choice of how I want to react.

Who or where do you turn to for guidance when you feel out of control?
