In our weekly meeting today, we all complained about the very cold weather in the East Coast and how it affects our moods.

Gennifer, our editor, told us about her Winter Survival kit she issues every winter to keep her spirits high. I thought I should share this with you all.

Gennifer is good in keeping the team spirits high all year round, so here is what she does:

  1.  A warm drink that smells like summer such as coconut coffee or jasmine tea. The fragrance makes me think I’m outside on a beautiful day.
  2. Vacation music
while I work, do chores or make my way to the store. Here are some favorites:
    Martin Denny (Tiki Music)
    Bola Sete (Bossa Nova)
  3. Cutting fruit and vegetables
Something about mindfully peeling carrots or cutting an orange makes me grounded and happy. The connection and scent of the produce paired with preparing something nourishing for my body is a great pick me up in the winter.
  4. Plants and Flowers

Nurturing indoor plants is a great way to stay in touch with nature and feel spring is almost here. So is having fresh cut flowers in cheerful colors.
  5. Vacation-scented soap

Stonewall Kitchen has my favorite scents. I could climb into a bottle of Lake House.

Do you have tricks to get through the winter joyfully?

Happy Tuesday,

For women who love effortless style, navy offers something black sometimes can’t: softness. It delivers the same polish and versatility while feeling a little more approachable, a little more modern, and often more flattering against mature skin tones.
