I am retired now. My last job was Founding President at the Performing Center at Ground Zero. I was in charge of getting the building built and worked there for eight and a half years. I have worked for three Mayors, two in NYC and one in London and was the first woman to be made NYC’s chief lobbyist by Mayor Ed Koch.
Growing up in the UK was wonderful and when I was 14 I was a Beatles fan. So I wore black, including a ghastly black plastic jacket which was the rage. I also wore lime green and shocking pink socks with my pointy shoes and saved my allowance for a French navy bag!

When I went to Washington DC for work, staff always said they could tell I was from NYC! Black clothes I guess. I LOVE Alembika, the different fabrics, the wonderful pants, dresses and tops which can be dressed up or down. I always go to events in Alembika now. I have found my style. Wearing Alembika always makes me feel grand.
If I had a free day, I would start with my exercises as I want to be as strong as possible in my older years. I am 79. Then I would meet one of my marvelous friends for lunch and after curling up with a book. I am lucky to have an interesting husband so we would chat before dinner as he has a drink.
I had a mentor when I was a teenager, still in the UK. She always gave me the courage to do what I wanted and said I could do anything if I worked hard enough. She was a Dr and had three girls and I really looked to her for life advice.
Thank you, Maggie, for being an #alembikawoman
