Meet Marlene Friedmutter, a beautiful and creative human who you need to know!

What woman from history (alive or dead) would you love to have dinner with and why?

I’d love to be at dinner with Queen Elizabeth 2. She’s always someone I wanted to ask how she kept her composure throughout her marriage, then being given such a great deal of responsibility, at such a young age, having England, Scotland and all the colonies. She had no say as to her wardrobe. How’s that feel? Couldn’t talk about women’s suffragettes, although her thoughts were given to every Minister in her lifetime. How she felt about having her children grow up and share in those responsibilities, as well. I’d love to hear her personal accounting of ruling but not being in charge. How difficult and frustrating that must have been. The entire world watched every move she made. Lastly, how she got Diana’s death so wrong.

Then perhaps get her sister’s take, too!

What piece of wisdom would you like to pass along to younger women?

Life goes faster than you can imagine! Don’t sweat the small stuff! Be you!! Make sure you remember your life should only include people who are positive and caring. The rest you don’t need their drama!!!

What would you do if you had the whole day for yourself?

For me that’s most days – I’d make sure I was thinking of being kind and caring to myself! I’d take a walk, look at nature, play with my dogs, make sure I ate something I’d like to eat that might be frivolous! I’d take a nap in the middle of the day, so I could start all over again!

What do you love most about being a woman?

I’m glad I live in a time where women are exceptionally talented and bright! That they are finally recognized for their efforts and achievements! I’m grateful that I was able to have my two children. I’m glad that I can still continue to love myself and care about my family, only being older has shown me what’s really the most important thing is to love myself first!!!

What is the one piece of clothing you cannot live without?

Toughest question!! I have so many things, actually too many beautiful things. I couldn’t live without my UGG boots. I wear them in winter, summer with AC blasting, spring and fall. I want to say all my Alembika clothing, but that’s the third thing! Second would be a cozy sweatshirt! lol
