December 2021—the Covid pandemic was still raging, and I was exhausted from my work ensuring that older adults in our community had the home care services they needed to stay safe and comfortable—often alone, at home.

Amidst the chaos, I faced a dilemma: My 60th birthday was approaching—my favorite day of the year—and I wanted to celebrate this milestone with friends and family. I wanted a party!

Covid tests had just become available, but getting one felt like a “survival-of-the-fittest” competition. I persevered, and eventually, we managed to secure enough tests to celebrate responsibly, together.

But that wasn’t the end of my story, as I wanted to look and feel amazing (I was turning 60, after all)! That’s when I discovered Alembika.

I instantly fell in love. Now, I’m recognized at my synagogue as an “Alembika Woman” (apparently, I’m not the only fan in the greater Boston area)!

To this day, my 60th birthday outfit remains one of my favorites—though now, I’ve embraced my natural silver hair. 😊
