What do for work? I graduated from University with degree in History but after a 9 year professional career in Personnel and PR (BC- before children), I have spent the last 40 plus years in volunteer work. Organizing, fund raising, actively participating and leading various organizations.

We are both Estonian Americans. My husband Aadu Allpere is the Honorary Consul of Estonia in Atlanta. He was recognized for his work over the last 10 years and we were in Tallinn, Estonia.

How would you describe your style as a teenager? I grew up in an Immigrant family. My mom who was very stylish- sewed all my dresses. I’d select the patterns with simplicity from McCalls and eventually Vogue. I was addicted to Glamour Magazine and learned a lot from it.

How would you describe your style now? Classic, elegant but a bit boho when appropriate. I have a sort of rebellious streak that makes me NOT want to look like everyone else or follow the latest IT looks.

Kristi is seen here wearing her Serenade Cocoon Dress.

What would you do if you had the whole day for yourself? I’d read, listen to music, go to theatre and concerts. I also love to travel!

Who gave you the most valuable piece of advice and what was it? I was an only child in a family of 6 adults and was given a lot of advice. But my grandmother’s words stay with me. This was in reference to jewelry but applies to more than that. In Estonian there is a word “Kassi Kuld” (cat’s gold). She would say, “Don’t wear cat’s gold! Be genuine— in all aspects of yourself.

What’s on your Alembika Wishlist? Elegant but practical dresses. I love the cocoon dresses, Punto pants and tops. I do wish there were more blue colors. My closet is primarily Black🤩

Kristi is here in her Everyday Velvet V-Neck Top and Everyday Velvet Punto Pants.

Thank you for being an #alembikawoman Kristi! And to you and your husband for all of the work that you do to make the world a better place.
