Teri is a New Yorker who teaches, performs and creates music! She and her husband, bassist extraordinaire John Menegon, perform “Swingin’ in the Cellar!” every Sunday night at Entwine in the West Village, 765 Washington Street, NYC. Note to #AlembikaWomen in New York City: You can see Teri’s swinging’ show live!

What do you do for work?
I’m a musician; a jazz singer and pianist. I taught jazz voice at SUNY New Paltz for many years and still teach History of Jazz online. I sing locally in NYC, as well as in Europe and elsewhere in the world. I also write songs and record!

What do you do when you don’t know what to do?
There is always much to do—play piano or learn a new tune! Read! Talk to a friend.

What would you do if you had the whole day for yourself?
Practice piano, write lyrics, work on music, go for a walk—shop for new clothes!

What is the best thing about being a woman?
Being able to wear beautiful clothing—especially Alembika! Having many friends! Not being a man!

What is the one piece of clothing you cannot live without?
My new Alembika coat-dress—I now need something similar for summer!
