This week’s Resort Edit highlights our staff picks—the pieces in our newest collection that our small yet mighty team spontaneously reached for first after eyeing the showroom racks—replete with over sixty designs! All are relaxed and elegant, and ready for your vacation or stay-cation. Because you don’t need an airline ticket to go somewhere wonderful and wear something gorgeous.

YAEL’S RESORT PICK:
CRINKLE MAXI SHIRTDRESS

It’s not your mother’s shirtdress… Hagar has created an elegant silhouette tailored with the same precision as the old-school shirtdress, but in a chic, relaxed fashion that drapes on all bodies and flatters all sizes, Missy to Plus.

What we all love most about this style is the crinkle. Who doesn’t love it? Especially if you are a traveler. As you may imagine, Yael travels a lot, with family and business in Israel. This dress can be rolled up and tossed in your carry-on and it always looks fresh, no steam needed. That’s a win.

Yael chose the soft teal hue that looks beautiful with her eyes (it also comes in Coral). She rocks it layered over pants; it’s a great look. The swirled Lagoon print of the Pajamas picks up the Teal, which is perfect peeking out from beneath—especially with a great shoe—as the LAGOON PAJAMA TROUSERS have an ultra-chic slit front. If you like layering pants with dresses, these would be great with the ISLAND LINEN WONDERFUL DRESS, too.

ALIN’S RESORT PICK:
MOON DOT CRINKLE CHIFFON SWING DRESS

Bring on the romance, home or abroad, wearing a softly crinkled chiffon style that catches the eye with a harmonic trio of tiers that are cut for movement and swing—so breezy and feminine. And fun.

Alin loved the blouson poet sleeves on this effortless chiffon babydoll dress with separate nude stretch tank slip, included. She was also enamored by the MOON DOT CRINKLE CHIFFON BABYDOLL DRESS—same fab fabric and stretch knit slip included, but with button front and cuffs + a flirty ruffled hem that skims the knee.

It’s possible Alin has the most exciting social life on the team, and I envision her out with friends, club lights and music, wearing either of the two aforementioned beauties… A couple of bourbons in, dancing to the groove, relaxed smile with a red lip, of course, and red hair aglow…

FATIMA’S RESORT PICK:
MOON DOT SHIRTDRESS

Fatima says, “You will never catch me in a dress… Unless I’m on vacay!! Then, it’s no thought, easy dresses for days!” It’s true. Fatima always wears a beautiful top and pants to the office. But she can wear anything, IMO. My mom, Sandy, would have called her a “tall drink of water who is made for dresses.”

Fatima chose our elegant Moon dot motif on a shirtdress to wear tied or loose—both beautiful. It stands out with Hagar’s softly draped signature pockets, and is finished with a self sash and single back belt loop. The longer length dress hits from mid-calf to ankle zone, depending on your dress size and height.

Lastly, and no pun intended (although Fatima is our resident stand-up gal), the Moon Dot Shirtdress moonlights as a jacket. Wear it long and open or gently tied as an elegant topper over so many pieces in the RESORT COLLECTION.

CLAIRE’S RESORT PICK:
ASTER COTTON VOILE WONDERFUL DRESS

Claire chose the beloved Wonderful dress, an Alembika favorite that shows up every season in new fabrics and updates. For RESORT FW22, it arrived in a cheeky flower print on pure woven cotton voile (that gets even softer when washed). And such a pretty palette!

Claire, another red-headed siren on the team, looks great in this easy pullover shaped with princess seams though the bodice. Below, the signature pouf skirt features hidden elastic in the hem to hold its chic shape. The finishing touch: designer Hagar’s draped oversized pocket for stashing your lip balm. Or a love note. Or a beach shell.

This beautiful floral pattern is also available in a few other silhouettes you should check out if it tickles your fancy, such as BLUEBELL, Navy with Green, and DAHLIA, Peach and Earth hues.

CARLA’S RESORT PICK:
FESTIVAL PAJAMA TROUSERS

One of Carla’s favorite colors is purple, so this beautifully hued psychedelic print in multicolor swirls was hard to resist. If I recall correctly, she was eyeing it from the very beginning, before we even had RESORT FW22 inventory in the house…

Then, there was choosing a Festival style… The fun, vibrant print comes in the silhouette shown here, with a zip-and-button trouser front, side pockets, easy stretch back and amazing slit front detail at the hem. ANCA’S RESORT PICK:
BLUEBELL COTTON VOILE SWING DRESS

I was rifling through the racks one day recently and Anca mentioned that she loves this fun floral motif, too. She chose Bluebell and it looks amazing with her coloring—ocean blue eyes and silvery locks.

The dress takes its cues from the popular trapeze silhouette—so comfy, breezy and a dream to wear, with plenty of room to move for all sizes and proportions. And, the Bluebell print comes in two other dress styles—you can view them and the rest of Resort FW22 HERE.

This effortless pullover dress is cut from soft woven cotton voile that feels great, and gets even softer when washed. The pullover style with spread collar and button placket has cool three-quarter sleeves and a beautifully gathered flounce hem. With sneakers or heels, it’s totes adorbs!

JOCELYN’S RESORT PICK (that’s me):
PAISLEY PALAZZO PANTS

I have always loved easy, breezy, flowing palazzo pants. I remember my first pair… Burgundy chiffon Liz Claiborne with a matching pajama-style top. I was barely 20 and felt sophisticated and fancy.

These took me back there… I love that they are black with ivory as they will go with an endless variety of tops I already have. Also, they can be dressed up or down—while I love the golden platforms Katya is wearing here, metallic flat sandals or white kicks would be equally as cute when spending extended time on your feet.

I am envisioning the many looks I can swing with these wonderful wide-leg pants and I keep coming back to the BEST CUPRO CROP CARDIGAN. In Ivory, it’s a beautifully proportioned look on me, as I am under 5’4″. I tried it on for Carla, our stylist and social media guru, and she gave it two thumbs up!
