Around 6 months ago, as I was approaching my 55th birthday, I started to feel the infamous hot flashes everyone associates with menopause.  They were on and off and spaced out so I was able to ignore them in the beginning. My belly started to get rounder, I had a new feeling of fatigue, an uncontrolled irritation, and a new dryness to my skin.

My neck doesn’t look the same, and losing weight seems impossible. It is always strange to me how we manage to ignore the aging process. It is here, in front of me, in my face, all over my body, inside out and yet I try to call it something else.

It took 6 months to take it all in. To understand, it’s not a terminal illness that I am experiencing, but my own aging body, confirming that I am here temporarily and have no time to waste. Thank you nature for that reminder. To notice and be present.

How do I live my best life with that in mind?

Happy Tuesday!
