I spent 2 weeks in Ladakh, North India, in the Himalayas. We visited many temples and met monks and teachers who let us get a close look at their lives. I am always fascinated by monastery life.
I love my NYC lifestyle and I don’t see myself living in one but it always strikes me how the monks we meet don’t seem to want my life either. They live a very isolated life, very quiet and yet, they seem to have much joy. They always smile and are always very welcoming. They are not interested in the world I come from but I am very interested in theirs.

Our Lama (teacher) that joined us for a few days kept saying we had everything we needed to be happy. Inside us. “Don’t look for it outside.”
What is it that they have that I want it too?
Do you know if you have everything you need to be happy?
Happy Tuesday
