I hope you had a very good and restful long weekend. The sun was out and the sky was blue in NYC.

It is hard to imagine how it is to be a soldier or even harder to be a soldier’s mother.

Growing up in Israel, we all have to serve. It’s mandatory. Boys serve 3 years and girls 2. Every family knows a soldier who was injured or fallen in a war. We read books about wars and generations of young people serving, carrying generations of trauma.

It is still hard to understand what it really means to be out there, fighting to protect your home.

Do you have people in your family who have served?
