I usually stay away from celebrity news or gossip; like, who cares….right?
But Dolly Parton and Celine Dion caught my attention this past week, both so differently but yet, very similarly expressing their souls through fashion.
I love how Dolly said she always wanted to look like that trashy woman she saw on the corner of the street when she was young. She knew the big hair, breasts, and long pink nails would call for the attention she wanted. Yet what we loved about her was her soul, her generosity and authenticity. She was not ashamed to be herself or of her history. She didn’t care what anyone thought about her songs as long as they listened to them. What an inspiration. Be yourself!
Celine on the other hand, always so elegant in her looks and songs, made her come back and health recovery through powerful fashion statements. She is showing us how she feels through the stunning looks she chooses to wear on stage. Breath taking looks. Very powerful, very empowering. Making me feel we can all bounce back from crises. Even stronger.
Our dear customer Tessa emailed me last week saying she was about to go through a tracheotomy procedure due to cancer diagnosis and would love to take a few scarves with her to the hospital to cover her neck and feel better wearing a cheerful color scarf. I read her message and teared up. She was so open, so strong about going into that treatment with everything she needed to feel better. Including a new green scarf to keep cheerful. Deep bow to you, Tessa. We are all going into that hospital with you.
Can what you wear on the outside make your inside feel better?
