My grandma passed at 103. She used to tell me about her childhood in a small town in Poland eating 12 eggs a day. They raised chickens so that was the main protein meal each day. I don’t think they knew about egg whites back then.

She was my model for healthy living. You eat what’s available.

She was single for 30 years after my grandfather whom I never knew died from a long heart disease. I do not remember her ever feeling lonely. She loved living on her own, doing her art and playing the piano.

I love watching family members, friends and customers aging well. It gives me inspiration like nothing else.

Our customer Anna, who turned 94 last month, and still cares about her fashion and what she will wear to her granddaughter’s wedding, or the family gathering, dealing with cancer and healing from a big fall breaking her pelvis, says: “Enjoy the day, it goes fast! And enjoy your drink, keep the faith and keep smiling. That should do it.”
