I went to the Alembika trunk show in LA and as I stepped out of the car a woman came up to me and said how beautiful my dress was! I love the jacquard at the bottom – it gives the dress that perfect drape. It is such a joy to wear.

Seen in the Christine Shirt Dress.

How would you describe your style as a teenager?

I’m a London-born ex-pat living in LA, and as a teenager I was all Biba and Laura Ashley.

How would you describe your style now?

Since then I have been most aptly described as a “Bohemian JAP”: I still want to dress like a Led Zeppelin groupie but at age 66 I now need the fabric and the cut to be high quality and sophisticated.  Alembika really fits the bill on all counts. Seen below in the Tekbika Ines Cocoon Dress (left) and Jolie Mesh Cocoon Dress (right).

What is a piece of clothing that you cannot live without?

My Max Mara Icon Coat. To me it is the height of chic and I feel a million dollars in it.

What is your perfect day?

A perfect day is any day spent with my husband, Steve.

The shape is amazing and the texture is so soft and flowing. Seen in Essential Cocoon Dress, Umber. Also in other colors.

Who gave you the most valuable piece of advice and what was it?

The most valuable piece of advice I ever got was from my sister-in-law about how to keep my husband’s ex-wife at bay. It’s probably not appropriate to go into it here, but if you want to know the secret, DM me.

Thank you for being an #AlembikaWoman Lizze!

5 Fun Fashion Facts About Pastels (That Might Surprise You)

For decades, pastels were considered strictly springtime colors. Today the rules are much more flexible. Soft pinks, powder blues, mint greens, lavender, butter yellow, and pale peach now appear year-round on designer runways. In summer, they feel especially fresh and sophisticated, reflecting sunlight beautifully while keeping outfits light and airy.
