I never liked Halloween as a kid. I wasn’t a party girl and I didn’t like dressing up with costumes. And later on, as a store owner in NYC, it was quite a hassle to deal with many groups of children and teenagers who would burst into the store looking for candy.

I just hated it. But becoming a mom and better, a grandma (I have god grandkids that I am practicing on:), the more I love it. I enjoy the little ones’ happy faces and their enthusiasm about dressing up.

These days, I still don’t love costumes—but I do love adding a little magic to what I wear. A pop of color, a bold print, or something with a touch of mystery feels just as festive, without the fuss.
