We asked Alembika’s designer, Hagar Alembik, to answer some of our #AlembikaWomen questions… Here’s what she shared.

What do you do when you don’t know what to do?

First, I try to relax, focus and think of all of the things I like that make me comfortable, and that strengthen me.

I find so much power with this process that reminds me of what makes me happy—what’s important—and forget the surrounding noise to focus on the Good.

What would you do if you had the whole day to yourself?

This may not be a good example for “free time.” I enjoy my beloved workplace! I love reading books and drawing, but working on a daily basis is important for me.

What is the best thing about being a woman?

I feel lucky to be a woman. We have sensitivity, abilities, courage, power… But it’s not as if I know any other way.

What’s the one piece of clothing you can’t live without?

I must have tunics and knitted dresses. The Knit was invented at the beginning of the last century and has been accompanying the fashion world to this very day. Knits are flexible, comforting and lovely—I am with it and it is with me.

  1. shalom,
I love love so many of the pieces, and own 2 from years back that still fit beautifully.
But, now I can’t wear 3/4 sleeves, or short sleeves….. due to bad skin issues, that comes with aging, etc.
I know summer in Israel is brutally hot, but I wonder if U have any plans for a nice airy mid length dress with long sleeves, for the older generation of your fallows women.
would love to have a light Alembika colorful free flowing one with long sleeves for summer or between seasons…..
just a thought for the future.
    המון תודה!!!

    1. Thank you so much for this important feedback Estee.
Check the dresses category. It has great flowy dresses with 3/4 long sleeves and a great cardigan to layer on the sleeveless dresses.
