“We are not wallflowers, not so fragile, not a blank canvas and not by the book.”

I love watching the way you dress, the way you speak and the way you all present yourself.

I learn from each of you. Thank you for sharing your stories and looks. They are all very inspiring!

Happy Tuesday,
Yael Edelist, President Alembika USA

Here is what you had to say!

I am still becoming. It’s really the only choice women have.- to keep growing and being “new and improved” and be leaders in our thoughts and actions! Like Simone. Like Kamala. Like Taylor.

A stressful financial services career with bumps (or gashes) on my head from hitting the impenetrable glass ceiling, (don’t get me started on men speaking over me in meetings) and some difficulties on the home front diminished me. I allowed circumstances to shrink me a bit, actually, the absolute opposite of who I am. So I get it, being confident and on top of things isn’t guaranteed- it takes work!

I retired during COVID. but have not yet hid my full stride in the next chapter. But I will!!! Much yet to do, see, explore., experience, and CELEBRATE!!!! I have an eye for style, and color in home decor and fashion. I have an art business (acrylic painting) mid-launch, and still using my client-experience-focused professional business skills as a volunteer at my HOA. I just turned 69 but feel like the world is at my feet!!

I feel like I’m on the brink of something big! It’s just around the corner. I’m not 100% sure what “it” is, but I have enough confidence that my family and friends see “it” coming, too.

Lonna Coleman, La Quinta. California

A ‘friend’ once told me she loved to see what I was wearing.  Because it was always so inappropriate for a woman of my age (I was then in my late 50’s).  You know, every time I knew I was going to see her, I dressed even more trendy .  Whoever dares to say we should dress ‘age appropriately’?  Iris Apfel all day long~~~~  I’m 73 now and still strutting!

Our life challenges define and shape us. I am a bit of a chameleon. I like reinventing myself and have worn many hats. Grateful for the good and the not so good. Now at 63, I feel freer than ever to express myself and follow my heart.

I have a loving partner, have mothered, daughtered and now I am laughing every day with myself and others, spreading joy wherever I can. I have the best job in the world. I am self employed and have created my own business.

I refuse to blend in when I can stand out. Not only with what I choose to wear but the way I carry myself and the way that I communicate with others. My word is my bond. I have the best of intentions.

I am unique and like to think outside the box, my motto is express yourself but don’t hurt anyone in the process. Sometimes it is not all about me, it’s about allowing others to shine. That can be very satisfying too. We can support each other.

Watch me play and you’ll see that I am wild at heart but I can also be gentle and compassionate.

No one is perfect. When we are stressed and struggling, we can make imperfect choices. The important thing is that we can recognize these moments in ourselves and improve. Sometimes we fall off the track but need to brush ourselves off and get back on track. Masterpieces in the making, ha!

Martina Giraldi from Venice, Italy said she’s a “Masterpiece in Progress.”

From Alembika: Favolosa!

Ellen Jo Ljung from Geneva, Illinois (pictured), Helena Chenn from San Jose, California, Lori McIntyre from Canada selected “All of the above!” They recognized all of these within themselves.

From Alembika: we can relate!

I’m a force of nature, wild at heart, a masterpiece in progress and rewriting the future
