At Alembika, we spend a lot of time talking about upcoming trends, seasonal color palettes and what our ladies love to wear. We also have conversations around sustainability, something that is a hot topic in the fashion industry.

Alembika is not a fully sustainable brand, but we do evaluate options and revisit how we can do better. There are three things I’d like to share about how we approach sustainability and its impact on our planet.

1. We produce in limited quantities.
We work with premium fabrics in small batches and produce limited quantities of each style. This helps us focus on quality rather than mass production.

2. We know the people we work with.
We work closely with smaller factories where we know the owners and the people making our clothes. We care about fair wages, respectful treatment and having a supply chain we can actually understand and be connected to.

3. We think about what happens after you order.
Our orders are shipped in POLLAST!C mailers made from recovered ocean-bound plastic. So far, this choice has helped divert 1,423 pounds of plastic pollution from reaching the oceans.

This is not everything. There is always more we can do. But these are three ways we are trying to make better choices.

How have you adjusted your life to leave a better planet behind?
