FAQs with Alembika Stylist,Wendi

If you’ve ever opened your closet and thought, “Does this still feel like me?” — you’re not alone.

As we move through our 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, everything evolves — our bodies, our lifestyles, our confidence. The secret to staying stylish is letting your wardrobe evolve with you.

So, we sat down with Alembika’s stylist, Wendi, to answer some of the most common questions we hear from women who want to feel modern, comfortable, and effortlessly chic — no matter their age.

How do I stay modern without feeling like I’m trying too hard?

Wendi: “It’s all about silhouette and proportion. Update your look with pieces that flow — wide-leg pants, cocoon shapes, cropped sweaters or jackets. These create movement and freshness without chasing trends.”

Try: A signature cocoon dress or fluid wide-leg pant that moves with you.

What do I do if my shape keeps changing?

Wendi: “Forgiving fabrics and smart construction are your best friends. Elastic waists, architectural shapes, and soft knits create ease without losing style.”

Try: A two-piece set or layered tunic and pants — polished, flexible, and easy to mix and match. See here are Tekbika Geranium Top (left), Tekbika Iris Top (center), Tekbika Azalea Swing Top (right) all paired with Tekbika Flow Pants available in Midnight, Forest, Wine.

I want color, but I’m not sure what works anymore.

Wendi: “Our skin tones shift over time, so it’s the perfect moment to explore new hues. Earthy tones, jewel shades, and bold prints can be incredibly flattering.”

Try: A print top or tunic in a color that makes you glow. Seen here: Swish Wide Cargo Pants in Amethyst and Addison Flouncy Tee, Aqua Dots (left), Ozai N Ku Luma Dress, Chili (center), Oasis Blouse and Pants in Waterlilly (right).

Can I still wear statement pieces?

Wendi: “Absolutely! The key is balance. Pair a bold print or dramatic shape with something simple. Confidence is the best accessory.”

Try: A statement jacket or architectural dress paired with neutral basics. Seen here the Savoir Maxi Dress (which also comes in a few other fabrics), Kao Reversible Robe (center), Hot Stuff Flounce Jacket (right). Shop After Dark for more dressy styles.

FINAL NOTE FROM WENDI:

“Evolving your style isn’t about age — it’s about energy. Choose pieces that celebrate who you are today.
